Steve is an experienced marketing strategist who has spent his career helping clients create & capture value in the space between a company and its’ customers. He has worked at senior levels of a broad spectrum of clients across B2B and B2C industries, spanning companies as diverse as CPG, automotive, travel/hospitality, technology, industrial, aerospace & business services.


Steve is what one client referred to as a “Big M” marketer since the client problems he is most often asked to address require consideration of all aspects of a client’s marketing mix (Product, Place, Price & Promotion), not just communications. At the same time, his consulting experience goes far beyond the recommendations of a project-based report, as he often plays an ongoing role working collaboratively with his clients to execute and refine that strategy. Prior to metaforce, Steve held leadership positions at both Management Consulting and Marketing Services firms. He was a co-founder of Helios Consulting Group a niche consulting firm that focused on helping clients accelerate topline growth by better connecting business strategy with marketing execution.


Prior to Helios, Steve was an executive at Wunderman, the leading direct marketing agency (now part of the WPP group). At Wunderman, he was EVP, Business Development Worldwide and President of CCR, a marketing consulting subsidiary.


Prior to joining Wunderman, Mr. Silver was a lead partner with Booz*Allen & Hamilton (now Strategy &, a subsidiary of PwC), where he specialized in growth side issues, especially market strategy and organization development. At Booz*Allen, he had management responsibility for the Computing, Communications and Electronics practice in the US and spent four years in Asia, based in Tokyo.


Steve has written extensively on strategic marketing issues with bylines appearing in strategy+business, CMO magazine & The Journal of Business Strategy. He has also taught as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at the Stern School of Business at New York University where he developed an MBA marketing course called Building and Managing Customer Relationships.


Steve has a BA from the University of Rochester and an MBA from the University of Chicago where he received an FMC Fellowship Award for his leadership potential. He is married with two children.
